Yesterday I actually had the experience to paint with a man that is blind. Yes..... blind. People so often worry about the end result of a painting that they forget about the experience along the way. He cannot see....... but with a little assistance with dipping into the right colours and the chair, he created his own masterpiece to be proud of!! So as some worry about what their paintings will look like at the end, this man fully experienced the joy of painting in a totally different way. I am so grateful for these amazing experiences I have been able to be a part of. And I love that I can share what I love to do with so many different people that face all kinds of different challenges to show them that anything is possible. 💖
Words from Stephen Barker.....
"Of course when it came to the little details like the palm leaves etc. I had many wonderful guiding hands to assist me. Doing this painting on Sunday inspired me in so many ways. Not so much that I managed to paint the picture but the loving guidance I got from every single person in that room with me. When Art brings out our human connections then it's so beautiful. I never have to see this painting because everything that went into it was from the soul of everyone in the room including mine. There are no disabilities only abilities" :-)
